Alex works as Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (APP) Team Lead for Bupa Health Clinics in the UK where he provides clinical and operational leadership to Bupa’s APP’s. He is an experienced healthcare professional with 20 years experience.

Alex has worked as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner with the NHS in orthopaedics clinics and is skilled in imaging interpretation, listing for surgery and qualified in therapeutic injection therapy. Alex has also previously worked as a clinical lead physiotherapist for the MOD at Headley Court and the Defence National Rehabilitation Centre in Loughborough.

He has also worked in professional football, professional rugby and with the Royal Marines, in Poole.

Kayla grew up in South Africa immersed in different sports during her upbringing. She participated in a variety of activities that developed her competitive nature. Her journey into Sports Therapy was influenced by personal experiences with injuries, driving her to pursue studies in the field to aid athletes facing similar challenges. Kayla graduated from Buckingham New University in 2023 with a Sports Therapy degree and is now also studying at the AECC to become a Chiropractor.

Qualifications and experience:

Ruaidhri (Pronounced Rury) is currently in his last year studying osteopathy at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London, over the first several years he has gained an in-depth knowledge of massage and soft tissue techniques. Ruaidhri has experience treating sports related injuries as well and a wide variety of MSK conditions and general maintenance treatments.

Why sports massage:

Ruaidhri believes Sports massage/ soft tissue work to be an important and essential part of injury recover and prevention, as well as an import self-care aspect of any training plan. He enjoys working together with his patients to help them perform to their best, be that in sport or simply in their day-to-day life!

Passions:

Rhaidhri is a keen runner, climber and surfer so understands the frustration when MSK pain prevents you from taking part if your sport. He enjoys taking a holistic approach and taking the time to work in partnership with you to get you up and running again as quickly as possible. Raidhri has also found a love for applying the same principles of sports performance and recover to daily life, enabling those inhibited by pain to live more freely. To do this he takes a whole-body approach and incorporate exercise prescription into treatments plans to improve and maintain the treatment effects.

Debbie completed her physiotherapy degree at Brunel University in England in 2002, she then worked in London in a large public hospital . Here she gained a wide range of physiotherapy skills, treating musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions before specialising in women’s health. Debbie completed post graduate courses in a range of orthopedic conditions and advanced treatment methods. She went on to work within a National sports Centre in the UK treating high level athletes and worked alongside the British Amateur Gymnastics association at various events across Europe.

She moved to Vancouver, Canada in 2009 where she worked in the public health service as the Clinical Practice Leader for orthopaedics and women’s health within Fraser health.

She returned to the UK in 2018 and joined the Total therapy team to continue her work in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and explore her passion for helping people and to bring women’s health to the forefront in Dorset. She specialises in treating women with pelvic health issues, including pre and post-partum women, helping them gain functional independence and improve their quality of life. She believes women should not have to suffer the side effects of child birth or ageing, and wants to give women their independence through education and hands on treatment. She is also a qualified Mummy MOT Practitioner.

Victoria graduated from the AECC in 2005 and worked in private practice in Yorkshire, eventually owning her own clinics in Scarborough & Whitby. She returned to the south in 2013 and became a senior clinical lecturer at AECC, with responsibilities for supervising & teaching final year chiropractic students during their clinical placement.

She now works at Lilliput on Monday and Wednesday and in Ringwood on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. She has a particularly patient-focused approach and enjoys helping people out of their pain and to return to their normal lives, pain free, using a combination of appropriate chiropractic and soft tissue therapies, including dry needling, with relevant exercises to prevent a relapse.

As a horse rider herself, she has a particular interest in treating riders and helping them improve their riding performance. She can assess your riding position and movement patterns and offer advice and exercises to improve your seat and position.
